Looking for ceramic heat emitter for snake

Hey guys -

Like the title says, I'm looking for a ceramic heat emitter fixture (and bulb if you've got that too) for my Brazilian Rainbow Boa set up. Let me know if you've got something laying around. Orion (seen below) appreciates it!

Thanks!

I know where to find it at retail prices, but these things usually tend to be exponentially cheaper secondhand ;)

Flexwatt at one end for belly heat is all you need. That's all I used on my ultra red brazilians that I bred. They like it a little cooler than other boids, along with high humidity. Snakes are still one of my hobbies.

Huh, all I've read is that they like it high 70s to mid 80s, on the warmer end of the spectrum when they're young (mine is almost 6 months). My tank never gets below 75 but I can't seem to keep the temp up in the 80s when I turn my main light off - one of those basking bulbs which I have well above the tank so as to raise the entire tanks temp instead of having a hot spot..my understanding is that BRBs don't need a basking spot, just ambient warmth. I have two heat pads (one Exoterra rainforest which is a pos on the side, and a zoomed underneath on the warm side) and the back and side I insulated with 1" foam board.

Was hoping to put on a ceramic emitter instead of the basking bulb so that I can have a 24/7 source of heat w/o light, so I don't get the drops as night while he's still young. It sounds like you've a bit more experience with BRBs than I, so I'm all ears! I've kept BPs before, as well as darts in vivariums, so I'm well versed in reptile/amphibian care, first BRB though.

Awesome looking rack btw! Didn't see the pic on my phone at first

Mid to upper 70's is fine with a hot spot at one end at 85. They can choose to go on and off the hot spot. Keep your humidity up. Cypress mulch is a great substrate to help maintain humidity.

I'm currently just doing ball morphs, and its breeding season. That's why I have the room temp down. They still have their hot spot if they choose.

If you go with cypress, make sure it's 100% cypress, and not a mix. Some woods cause issues with snakes.

I'm just using cocofiber, the same as I had in my dart vivs. Seeded it with springtails in case I miss spotcleaning a poop. My snake's been fine, eaten twice since I picked him up January 27th, and looking like he's getting ready to shed, I was just thinking it would be better to steady things. Seems like it's alright though, and with the temperature only getting warmer outside I guess I'll be fine!

I'd love to come check out what you'll have for sale once they are hatched, when are you thinking that'd be?

If anyone's got a fixture/bulb cheap though, definitely still interested!

Becareful almost burned my house down four times tried a 150 watt it came ungluded and the wires touched and poof same with 3 100 watt ones I'm trying a 75 watt now you would think with life time warranty they would use glue that won't fall apart

Yes and it's never the socket it's the bulb where the ceramic is glued to the male socket part it comes apart and hangs from the wires inside I should prolly write to them I have lost 4 bulbs and 4 ceramic tops rated for 200 watts lol got to keep my five foot iguana happy

I've kept a boa for years until I lost him 3 years ago (and a couple ball pythons durin that same time)... I totally appreciate that beauty you have... Incredible looking little guy!

You may find that a CHE sucks too much humidity out of the air. Juvie BRB's need 90% humidity

What morphs? Do you sell at the white plains shows?
Edit: wait you're not local are you?

Nope! Justs saw "snakes" and I came running.lol
I would strongly suggest flexwatt as I said in my earlier post for your heating source. Many have learned by their choice in heat source,so pretty tragic.

Hells no! Lol... I was involved with reptiles LONG before fish/corals...

That's another great looking specimen
