Looking for cerith snails in LFS (or a group online order)

Hi... I need to buy some cerith snails for my new small cube reef - these are great sand diggers and algae eaters...

Looking for them in local fish stores but cannot find any.
Seen some nassarius snails ("zombies") but no ceriths.
If anybody seen - please let me know :-)

They are available at reeftopia dot com but that would be feasible if somebody would like to split a Reeftopia order with me. Anybody interested?

I was planning on doing an invert order through Premium Aquatics. If you want to add on, I can have it shipped to my office. Pick up would be in Naperville 59 and I88.

Thanks. For now I am good - it looks like I can get ceriths and more from ReefCleaners.org :-) I think I will arrange a group buy from them in a separate thread to get enough people to cross their free Express Mail threshold at $175.

John at Reefcleaners is a great guy to deal with, and gives you WAY more than you order.
All his packages are free shipping as well. Enter REEFCLUB in checkout for an extra 10%.

I have no idea an outlet like this exists!
Not only they have cerith snails - they have two varieties of them, I like it :-)
And fuzzy chitons.. And limpets. And pods... :-)
I am like a kid in a candy store...
Thank you for mentioning them :-)

For my 27 gallons 20"x18"x20" cube with about 2" of sand bed I selected following items:

24 Dwarf Cerith
12 Florida Cerith
2 Fuzzy Chiton
6 Limpets
1 bag of Pods

Do you think this is correct amount of animals?
I think there is not enough room to add a fighting conch... agree?

In terms of cleaners, there is already there:
1 large black fuzzy brittle starfish
3 nassarious snails
1 astrea snail
1 bumble bee snail
1 red legs (scarlet) hermit
1 blue legs hermit

Tank is planned to have one BTA with a pair of baby maroon clowns with a variety of other corals.

I love his Chitons and Limpets.

Glad I could help, tell John I sent 'ya and to scratch his wiener dog behind the ears for me.
Order sounds fine to me, hold off on the conch until your sand is more established if they have real small ones.
And all the cleaner packages are shipping included, I didn't know if you noticed.

Thanks, I have in fact noticed the "packs" with free shipping.
I do not like the selection of snails in the packages, so I picked a cleaner crew myself.

All Nerite snails I got were always walking out of my tanks and I found them dried on the floor :sad2:
Not sure how people do keep them inside...
It looks to me this is a variety of snails which likes trips to the water edge (and above) of the tide pools.
Not practical for our glass fish tanks, unless he has different nerites than the ones I know...

Besides, he recommends Express Mail for limpets... packages ship free but Priority Mail only.

Sure, where in Chicago are you located?

Looks like a moot point now.

But I second all the love for reefcleaners. I regularly stock up from John there, and the prices are unbeatable. I was only looking to try reeftopia to pick up some nudibranchs.

Yes it is, will do group buy from reefcleaners.org :-)

However, I can still highly recommend reeftopia - been shopping from them for years and always happy with the shipment. Got some nice lettuce nudis for my macroalgae tank few years ago and they were breeding frequently.
