Looking for ID.

Was thinking of buying this carpet (it's still at the fish shop), was just looking for a proper ID so I can 100% know it's care / placement / flow requirements etc.

Reckon it will colour up green? The LFS guy said it's yellow (not seen it in person, buying online)

Thanks

It looks like a pretty stressed S. Gigantea. It looks pretty stressed to me and I would pass on it. Hard enough to keep even if you can get one it much better shape. Also, yellow is not a normal coloration for this species. Yellow specimens are really just green specimens that have bleached.

Looks like a S.gigantea.I do belive it will do fine in a GOOD TANK. By that I mean a tank that is established, has good lighting, plenty of time for it to be cared for, etc.I would'nt have it shipped, but I would buy it if I was local to the store. My biggest concern is the gaping/open mouth. Not to bad,but bad enough to worrie me.

Good call on the mouth. I was so busy looking at the coloring mentioned by the OP that I didn't even notice that. If you were to try for it, I would ask for a more recent picture to see if that was just a passing event.

I would probably never buy this species online unless it was from live aquaria or something. The thing is this anemone's health is compromised and we don't know how long it has been in the tank since that photo was taken. Has its health improved or declined since the photo was taken? No real way of knowing. It is much better if you can actually observe the specimen yourself.

Sorry I didn't say about the mouth, but the nem just came in that day so it'd been in transit from his supplier to him.

Thanks for all the replies.
