Looking for Lights!!!

Well my 40g breeder is doing alright and I need to start looking for some lighting for it.

I thought some T-5s would be nice or PCs if it came to that. I mainly want to keep softies so I figured those two options would be fine and MH would cause some problems with the wife I would think.

Anyway 40g breeders are 36" across so if anyone has any used for a good price or can point me in the right way for some new ones I would appreciate the wise input. I will be heading over to the LFS on the hill to talk with them about what they can get in at their place to see my options.

FWIW I have had good luck using a MH pendant on my 40 breeder. If you use a good 20K bulb and reflector you will get decent coverage and heat won't be much of an issue. That would be my choice

Got a link or two to toss me? I'm not as familiar with MH as I am with PC. Trying to branch away from the PCs since that is what I'm using on 100% of my tanks right now

As long as the MH doesn't require me to attach anything to the roof of my living room (wife would hand me my butt!)

I know she wants it to look good etc etc to not distract from this or that. You know women and their tastes!

I was thinking something along the lines of this or this depending on if you wanted to go with single end or double end. You would have to hang them from the ceiling unless you made a bracket comming off the back of the tank/stand. Of course you would also need a ballast.

As Chris said, you would need to mount them in a canopy, if you don't want to attach it to a ceiling... This is what mine looked like...
