snakemanvet, can you please post more about your setup? It's in a 20 L, is it exclusvely BTAs? I think i see some xenia in there :) Also, lighting, is there a sump, skimming, etc?

How long have they been in there for? I think it's cool to see all those in a smaller tank and still thrive :)

Here is my Sunburst RBTA (green and blue base with Rose/Orange tenticles)

Mobert, Where did you find those greens? I've been looking for one but everytime I order one they turn out to be more brown than green. Also, have you had any trouble keeping that many clowns together? I have a pair of occelaris and woul love to add a pair of b&w occelaris or possibly skunks.

Wow! How may anemones do you have mobert?

It is not possible to get an accurate count but maybe 20? It is hard to tell where one begins and ends plus there are lots in the back where I can't see them.

The GBTA's came from Dolphin Pet Village in Campbell California. They are clones and are sometimes available. I was lucky to get a clone as they are brighter in real life than in the pictures.

I would not recommend more than one pair of clowns in a tank. Mine are from the same clutch and were raised together.

BTA?

BTA?

Sold to me by drfoster and smith as a Purple Bubbletip anemone.

I had my doubts. Died after being in 56 degree water with no heatpacks. I drip acclimlate for 3 hours raising the temp slowly. It lasted 2 days and after it started to decompose it released small red balls that are somewhat confirmed to be larval anemomes.

Many before being snatched by my clowns or hermits would attach to the glass and rock and flatten out.

Zoom and Reefvette, sorry to hear about both of your losses. But Zoom that was one large RBTA. Was it from natural causes or did something happen?

Reefvette that had to be a GBTA. DrFoster places alot of their corals under some strong light to get certain color effects they can capitalize on.

Thanks for posting!

I don't know if it was natural causes after so many years when i got home one evening the RBTA spawn in the tank but i got there in time to do a 200G water change and save everything .
But after two or three weeks i don't remember i came home to this almost everything was dead in the tank .

I have rebuilt the tank after that i'm ready for new RBTA i got all the Ocelaris clowns ready , the anemone is going to to picked up on Tuesday night from a local reefer this time i'm going to be sure it is a regular splitter RBTA. This a very nice color RBTA it is $80 for a 5" one :eek2: but i got to have one again.

Spawning has been known to crash many tanks. Hopefully someone can come up with a solution soon. Your tank was beautiful! Do you have any updated pics?
