Looking for Scribbled Angel information (Chaetodontoplus dubolayi)

I'm thinking about getting a scribbled angelfish (Chaetodontoplus dubolayi) for a 6' 125 that will be upgraded to a 250 in ~ 6months.

It will be the only angel, amongst a variety of wrasses.

My ?'s are regarding the difficulty of keeping this fish over the long term compared to other angels.

Are they finnicky eaters?
What foods keep them healthy?
Do they need a ton of sponge?
How aggressive do they become?
Are they particularly susceptible to diseases and if they are, which ones?

I can answer some of your questions: I feed mine clams, mysis, nori, and live blackworms. They are initially shy but become mildly aggressive after acclimation. Mine is healthy and hopefully will remain so. But I suggest Prazipro for all fish. Mine is in a 350 gallon tank with two other angels. Hope this is helpful.

Where did you get yours from? How big was he/she? What are the dimensions of you're 350?

So, you're one of the believers in live black worms? How often do you feed them?

What are other angels are in your tank?

Well I am a believer in frequent feeding with a fair amount of variety, and black worms is one food. I feed black worms one of the four times daily that I feed that tank. The tank is a bit unusual since it is 30 inches high and is a half octogon so it is not a long as a more traditional tank. The other angels are a blue faced and emperor along with anthias, etc.

I bought a 8 inch male he is a very finicky eater only eating clams and mussels very active fish and very passive still have mine it qt going into big tank in another week, mine picks at the live rock and so far no sign of disease only did prazi and no copper.

Got mine from wholesaler in Tampa was a special order

I've never owned one, but a LFS that I visit regularly brought in 3 large ones about 8". All lasted about 2 months. They arrived healthy and very plumped but refused to eat any more than just a few morsels. They were shy and never aclimated properly. Slowly they deteriorated and died in the store.

On a few other occassions, the same store brought in younger specimens around 4". Those ones always aclimated better and ate a variety of foods. IMO, stick to the younger ones, althought it's hard to pass up on the colors of an adult specimen.

I just received a 4" Scribbled angel from Divers Den this afternoon. He is beautiful and is already eating and exploring.

Just wanted to reiterate that the animals from Diver's Den are in terrific shape.

I bought one from DD about 3 maybe 4 months ago and he is doing great.

Mine was 3 inches when acquired; probably 4 inches now. Aggressive eater so far with all that I feed.
