Looking for some aiptasia for culture

I'm looking for aiptasia to create an aiptasia filter. I've checked locally, but no one has any LR w/ aiptasia. If you have any LR or other that has aiptasia, I'll gladly pay you for the item and shipping. Additionally, I'd be willing to offer store credit to WestMariculture.com.

Please don't respond w/ comments like "that's a bad idea", etc. I've been doing this long enough to know the risks.

if you got to carolina.com i belive i saw a section where they offer aiptasia for experiments . do you have a link about this idea?i wold love to read up on it

How much are you interested in? I have a 30 gallon high that has 5 or 6 pieces that are pretty covered. I have no idea on weight at the moment, nor do I know if you want to pay to ship that far.

LOL, too bad you are so far, I got hit pretty good too.
I thought about making a new drinking game, drink everytime you see aptasia in my pics, sure to get ya plastered!

I'm in NW Ohio. U could probably ship via USPS Priority Mail using a flat rate box if u insulate the box (pretty cold here now). We use 1/2" rigid insulation in our boxes, but you could just as easily use regular R13 fiberglass insulation. I'd be willing to send you the precut insulation for either a standard or large flat rate, as well as a couple heat packs.

Just a little goes a long way w/ aiptasia, as you apparently found out! LOL. I got the idea from Calfo's book on coral propagation. They do an excellent job of sucking the nutrients out of the water. Of course, you need to have a UV post-filter to keep them from taking over everything. At worst case, you can always throw a few berghia in your tank to eat every aiptasia in sight.

How much are you interested in? I checked flat rate shipping boxes for someone else, and found I've got enough to fill more than any of those boxes. I do have some larger styro coolers I could ship in, if you want that much. Also have 40hr. heat packs. Its cold here too ;)

Either a single rock w/ a few of them on it, or just cut some off and put them in a bag of water for shipping. Either way will work. I just need one to start with, but having a few more will get things going faster.

Easy enough - I'll just send you one of the smaller rocks - should be plenty to get you going. You want to PM me shipping info and we'll have to decide on shipping - prior to or after X-mas?

Peppermint shrimp, stat!

Heck no, I'm culturing those babies up for my annual science experiment, saves me having to order them from the supply company. J/K *sigh*, its a classic example of what you end up with when you put high school students in charge of maintaining a reef aquarium.
