Looks like I'm back!

Hello again... been a few years, and i'm getting the itch to start up a new tank again. This time, I'm thinking a 125 gal with a carpet nem and some clarkii clowns as the focal point. Has much changed in the past 3-4 years with the technology? I see LEDs are all the rage for lighting. Is the consensus to do a closed loop for flow, still? Apex controller?

I'm just starting to think about what I'm going to do, so any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks!
Matt

Just jotting down some notes here.... making a list of what I will need to start the setup:

Tank
Stand
Lights
Canopy?
Pump/Plumbing
Sump (going to DIY with an old 75 gal I have sitting around)
Protein Skimmer
Calcium Reactor
Carbon/GFO reactor?
Live Rock
Live Sand
Salt
New Filters for my RO/DI

Am I forgetting anything?

Thanks again, and happy holidays!

Matt

Closed loop a little Pase', slower flow through the sump with interior water movement done with power heads is where most are now.
Skimmers still are plenty to choose from, Aquamaxx seems to be one of the good ones.
According to Sanjay almost any "good" LED will grow corals.

Thanks for the head's up - so, what constitutes "slower flow" - I remember using 10X tank volume in the past, so I'm guessing maybe 5-7X tank volume, now?

thanks,
Matt
