Lost Sand Sifter Goby

I've had my goby for a couple of months. The other day I had a rock slide (my tank is new and I still haven't found a set up I like so I keep rearranging the rocks). So after cleaning up the rock I didn't see the goby. I figured he was hiding from all of the commotion. My clown and chromis were fine so I didn't pay any attention to the goby. Well, after over a week now, I can't find the goby. I haven't seen him at all. Today I took out about half of the rock thinking I would find him trapped, but no luck. I raked through the sand and still nothing. I have some hermits and an emerald crab so I suppose they could have eaten the goby. But I am baffled that I have seen no sign of him even after digging through the sand. I know he can't have just disappeared. Any help?

I have a 29G BioCube (completely enclosed). Maragrita Snails, Turbo Snails, Nassarius Snails, and Blue and Red leg Hermits, also, an emerald crab. I have only one Chromis and one Ocellaris Clown. I have a sun polyp coral, finger leather, mushroom, brain coral, colt tree, frog spawn, and green starburst. With approximately 30lbs of live rock and 20lbs of live sand.

Most likely starved to death in that sized tank. Emerald crabs, once larger, can take fish.

thanks for the help! i need some type of goby because i have sand algae, especially now. any suggestions?

My tank is completely cover, BioCube, unless he possilby jumped while I was moving rocks. But I haven't seen him on the floor, which isn't a solid answer considering I have a very curious 2 year old boy.
