Well my aunt surprised me this weekend with a trip to the Omaha Zoo in exchange for me watching her two dogs for a few days while she vacations in Vegas! :rolleye1: I think she's getting the better end of the deal but I wasn't gonna pass up a trip to the zoo when she paid for; gas, a sweet hotel, and lots of beer  So here are the photos from my new camera that made the cut as good enough to post!! I'm using a Pentax *istDL camera, with a standard 18-55mm lens. Nothing special here, still getting used to the advanced features, and working with photoshop. Here we go!!
I'll start out with my favorite section of the Zoo which is the aquarium. I could spend hours here, but the people usually drive me nuts before too long!
Here's a hammerhead. I found out how hard it is to get the right lighting when it changes from one tank to the next. Not the best, just love the animal.
Here's an octopus that was hanging out on the front glass of this tank.
Here's one of this crazy lobster-like thing. It had no large claws, but a shell very similar to a lobster. He had some AMAZING colors, but this was about the best picture I could get with all the kids standing around.
Here's a picture of an awesome reef tank they have. The pictures really don't do it justice. The coral on the left by my calculations was about 2 1/2 feet wide.
This is by far my favorite sea horse. Picture isn't the best, I was trying to find a spot on the glass that some kid had'nt smeared up already.
The last aquarium picture is of some kind of coral. Can't remember the name, I just liked the coloration a lot.
