hi my 12 inch louti does not seem to be growing very fast . i feed him every 3 days a gut load of shrimp or calimari or .... are they slow growers ? just wondering if any experience with these

I see a lot of fish hit the foot mark and slow down, not every, but most. Do you want your grouper to grow more? Don't those fish get 3 feet? That would take a monster sized tank to house it! I'd be happy he is growing slow. You could feed every other day and change up the diet more, also add vitamins etc, just be sure your bioload can handle the extra waste! I'd personally just vary his diet more and add vitamins if you aren't already doing so. Do you have any pics of the grouper? Adults are gorgeous!

yah i am fine with a slow growth but he is in a 500 gallon tank all by himself except for crabs and snails . just wondering if the 3 day feeding is enough to keep him healthy and not stunted ? i had a powdered blue grouper that i fed every other day that grew to 24 inches in a year and is now in a large tank at fish house vera cruz in temecula .
