I find that the primer gets the stuff off the pipe well. And makes it great for the cement. Ive never used the cleaner, any benefit? Seems like no but ...

Primer is usually all you need.
Cleaner will strip off the words and other marks if you want really clean pvc for looks.
If using cleaner the process would be: Cleaner -> Dry -> Primer -> Glue.
Don't let the primer or glue dry. Apply the primer, apply the glue, insert, twist 45-90 degrees and hold for 15-30 seconds. The whole process from primer to done should only take about a minute.

One thing I did was ordered the red sch.40 from BRS and used the sch 40 white fittings from my local hardware store. It came out nice (sorry no pictures yet)
