LPS Tank done Right

Serious, I can PM you with info.

G. SMITHII, No one is peein in the kool-aide. I posted in this thread to state an opinion just like you. As I said before, I think ReefMonger has a great variety of some serious looking LPS and is a successful reef hobbyist/aquarist. I was commenting on the overall look of the FTS which reminded me of an LFS which lacked a more natural looking aquascape. Also I do not be-grudge him of what he has, not my style. I like my system just fine.

When on this site you will encounter many different opinions, comments and methods. Some you agree with others you do not. We all cant agree on every issue, that would be boring.

yea thats true, and cool.

i was just a lil discouraged by how it just seemed to turn to a debate about how "cool" homeboys tank is.

pointing out that "your tank looks like an LFS tank" seemed to be a lil degrading.

thats all. i thought it migh have been a lil bit uncalled for, but, i guess thats the risk you take postin pics of yer tank!:D

Your tank and selection of corals is truly breathtaking and inspiring. Please keep sharing pictures with us (you take nice pics too!) I'll be following along!

Nice corals but the rock work looks like a wall to me ! Move some rocks out and open the tank up a bit - that would help a lot IMHO !

Gotta chime in here,
I love your yellow and red fungia plates !
Just breathtaking !!

hehe, Overall, IMO you have chosen great colors, and things are looking very "striking"

Hope they all grow out well !

WOW.. DROOL..!! Gets me inspired! Great pics, great work! Really a show & tell kinda tank, just lovely.

Very beautiful, I'm still rubbin' my eyes! :-)

Monger, how do you keep that tank so sweeet. What is running it ?
What do you dose ?
How many hours of light do you use..

Lighting is an Aquatinics 14 bulb fixture
10 bulbs are ATI blue plus
2 bulbs are uvl aqua suns
2 bulbs are uvl actinic whites

I run the blue plus 6-7 hours a day
and the daylights run 3-4 hours at most

I have a 50 gallon fuge with an octopuss 2000 recirc skimmer.

I dose Kent Tech A and B every other day 40ml each
I dose Tech M once a week probably around 250 ml

I feed coral frenzy 2-3 times a week. The fish get fed probably 3 times a week if they are lucky.

Really sweet corals. As all the rest have said, in a year, this will be a super nice tank. I am slowly moving towards an lps tank. But I do love my monti caps. I have one that is over a foot in diameter. Do you run a lps tank only because you don't care for the sps or do you think that the lps and sps don't co-exist as well? Can you put come of the lps like the Cynarina on the rocks? Also, I currently have two 250w 20k mh, and two 110 VHO actinics. Is that two much light for the lps?

I'm liking that oulophyllia. Do they come up often in the trade? I don't think I've ever seen one offered.

Great tank and corals bro! You have got me all excited about trying to find a red plate! Man I want one of those bad now. LOL!

Thanks for sharing.
