LPS Tank done Right

The red fungia ran me $300. Ever since I saw the red one in Bornemans book I told myself I had to find one. Took 5 years and when I saw it was still available I had to jump on it. An actual rare coral.

Did you get that red fungia from Sedar at Phishy Buisness?? I saw they had one a few months back but itwas snatched up before I could ring in, lol.

wow. that is a very nice tank. i love the lps theme. you did a great job. maybee its me but the more and more i dable into the lps i am more tempted to break down my sps tank. if i do i will blame this all on you!=).

Ever since I saw it in one of Veron's books I also had to have one. I've had two, one I eventually gave away to a friend and the other one I killed during a salinity spike. :(

Hey there, that tank looks familiar! Nice job, definitely could become tank of the month with a little growth. Its certainly one of the most colorful tanks I've seen yet!

wow looks great! FInally an I.D. thats an Oulophylia i love my piece of that never knew what it was called. Tanks amazing i want some of those chalices! Is that large encrusted one a Tyree Lava Red? I have a small piece of that and it looks just like it.

That's gonna be sweet in a year or two. Wall to wall coral of all different colors and forms. Once everything grows and is attached to the rocks, it wont look anything like an LFS. Tank of the month without a doubt. Naturally, I think you need an Australian Elegance in there though.

Monger, just so you know "Plus it has way better things than your LFS" is a pretty bold statement from a person who does not know what my LFS stocks and the availablitity offered to them. I like the quality and variety of your corals but the aquascaping and placement reminds me of an LFS, not too original, thats all. For the "Tank to be done right" I was thinking something more natural looking.

OMG this tank has more cool corals than I've seen on the 'post your best XXXX' threads! :eek2: I love the orance ecinada! How about you get another 180 gallon tank, do some aqauscaping in it and then you could place your corals is specially designed spots in the rocks to f a true masterpiece tank. You inspire me to find the coolest frags and grown them into beautiful colonies.

It does look like an LFS, however, this is why he got a bigger tank so they could grow out and fill in nicely and from the looks of what he has spent in time, effort and money on this one I am sure he will get an even bigger tank only to let them grow more. I am sure some will he will sell or give away as they don't reach potential or to make room for his favs as he goes along. Also, LMAO at the rest of the statement as I challenge you to show me any LFS in NJ that carries anywhere close to the number of hard to find/$$$$$ corals he has in there, however, the aquascaping point you make is very valid.

with that many frags, and the patience to let them grow out, i think his aquascaping is perfect.

and why you gotta pee in his kool-aide? its as good as it gets w/ what he currently has. i thought this forum was intended to help people, and share the glory of the hobby.

not to jab at someone because you're jealous of their tank man.

the tank looks great dude. But hey, thats just like opinion man.

Awsome job. My wifes 120 is packed with lps similar to your tanks look but not so much high end stuff. Yes the acans - micros - blastos (15) of them, duncans about 90 pieces last time I tried to count. I find it nicer than my sps tanks. Your tank is the best I have seen ever. Great job.
