Wow very cool. Thanks for putting the time into making these. I hope I don't offend you with my questions but I am curious why you chose to feed the coral live brine shrimp? Wouldn't frozen mysis provide more nutritional value? I can see the value in using live brine shrimp with fish that are hard to get eating...

I also never thought about feeding LPS with pellets... It's strange how the plate coral just moves the pellets into its mouth without the use of its tentacles.

Great vids. Same ? as Mattewell. Why brine shrimp instead of mysis (or do they just not like mysis...some of my corals won't eat it)

Your Lobo looks like mine. Mine has changed a lot, for the better, since it has been under my BuildMyLED.com lights. More color has come out.

Here is a pic of it when I first got it.

The live brine was a bit of an experiment to see which corals had the most effective nematocysts. I normally feed with a rotating regiment of blood worms, Mysis and brine. I have a few smaller colonies that I was feeding brine exclusively and they are thriving. I'm not sure if the lack of nutritional value really matters for sun corals - that is, i'm not sure if corals derive nutrition from food the same way as fish. I'm inclined to think the corals simply absorbs protein for the food and draw other chemicals requirements (e.g. calcium carbonate) from the water.

Nice looking lobo - looks very healthy.
They actually can gain a florescent hue under the right lighting. I find that they color up if you have some lighting in the red spectrum.

Not a LPS but a cool time lapse anyways (imo)
