LTA attacked

I just added a LTA to my 90gal and immediately after I floated it down to the sand a peppermint shrimp started attacking it. I have the anemone placed in a little quarentine area inside the tank but is this going to be a problem? Are pepermints and LTA's not compatable?

I have had an LTA before in another tank but never with a peppremint.

Suggestions please...

Hi O2 ; I had a LTA with a peppermint .a skunk cleaner and fire shrimp with out any problems . May be your peppermint shrimp is very territorial.Hopefully your peppermint will get used to your LTA soon.. I do not think he can cause any damage to it. Happy Reefing!!!

I have had some peppermint shrimp do weird things as well. In more than one case they seemed to be intent on causing an anemone harm.

Try to feed your shrimp when you add the anemone. Also, make sure you bury that anemone good and deep in your sand bed so that it can protect itself. You don't want any of the column projecting above the sand. If only the tentacles are showing (similar to how they look in the wild) it is much more difficult for shrimp to cause any damage without putting themselves at risk.
