this thing is driving me nuts! The filaments are gone, either taken back in or drifted away, and the tentacle have filled back up again. It is also still firmly attached to the glass. Am I safe to assume that if it is attached to the glass it is still alive and most likely will not nuke my tank?

Yes, if it is attached to the glass it's still alive. Since the stringy things are good, I think it's safe to assume those were mesenteric filaments. The inflating/deflating sometimes happens at first as the anemone acclimates to a new tank. Good to hear it's attached, but you're definitely not out of the woods yet. Continue to watch closely. Pics are worth a thousand words too.
Is there such a thing as too much light for an anemone? I'm starting to think I didn't acclimate it to my tank's lights properly. When I come home from work the only light on the tank is the moon lights; however, the tank is fairly well lit by the ambient light coming in through the kitchen windows. Under this light the anemone looks full and relatively healthy. When I turn on the full tank lights, the anemone shrivels and looks quite sickly. After noticing this trend the past few days I turned off the 10000k and went with only the actinic light, and the anemone started looking better fairly quickly.
So is it possible I have a relatively healthy, but light sensitive anemone, and should take it easy on the lights for the next few days?

It's actually doing well under the actinic lights. how do I go about acclimating it to the 10000k? There's no dimmer, so it's all or nothing. Should I just them on for longer and longer periods each day until I reach the desired burn time for the lights? And how long should I run actinic only?
