LTA wont anchor

So got a LTA. Its a little bleached but looks ok. The tenticals are a little short but not totally stubby. Mouth looks ok. Tenticals are still sticky.

Problem is the thing wont anchor. I have tried 4 different spots in my tank all near the bottom of rock in the sand. I have tried digging all the sand out to make a hole. I leave it for 4-6 hours but as soon as I turn my power heads its starts waving a bit and I can see its not anchored and it starts to drift. I even used some rubble to box it in so it had no ware to go and was fine there for anlost 24 hours but still didnt try to anchor.

This is my first attempt at a LTA. I have kept 405 BTA's and they have been easy. Just find a hiole in the rock and slide them in and they anchored with in minutes.

I also have a seabae that I put in the same time that anchored and looks just great.

yea was afraid of that.

Well I guess I will just keep flow dowsn for a few days and monitor him and hopefully he will turn around.

I've had a couple LTA's delivered that had tears on foot, probably during collection, that never attached.
Another thing to consider is that your sebae is going to like stronger light and flow than the LTA.
I was able to keep both for 5.5 years, but I had to give extra attn to LTA, making sure it had a ledgey/cavey area so it could pull in/out of flow/light as it wanted.
My LTA was way more sensitive than my sebae.
If you can, try tucking it between a couple rocks in a lower flow area of tank.

Ok bumping this up.

After 3 days I gave up and moved the LTA into my frag tank where I run much lower flow right now.(Its empty) LTA still isnt anchoring but still looks pretty good other then that. it is also eating twice a week.

Foot looks ok. No visible tears I can see. Just doesnt want to anchor at all.
