I keep seeing their ad on craigslist, anyone been there? I saw a post on CL how they report other ads as spam so they get more attention.

I might check it out seem to have some cheap prices. From the flames on craigslist it is due to them going out of business, but who knows.

I have not stopped by, but my friend described it as "sad". He says the guy obviously doesn't know his stuff so a lot of his coral looks bad. Perhaps he has a line on a cheap importer and he's just dealing in volume. Also, my friend bought a SPS frag from them and soon after it started dying of RTN or STN or something. It spread to another SPS he had, so we have our fingers crossed it didn't jump to the rest before we quarantined them.

As for CL, there have been rumors that LGF has flagged other postings. I will say that since they joined my listings have been flagged at record levels. Perhaps just a coincidence, but perhaps evidence. I, and others, have complained to CL with no response.

So, I'd say take a look but don't expect anything. And, if they are a slaughter house make sure EVERYONE knows about it!

Yup, they're the ones flagging in CL.

That's a sad place. Went there once and I'm never heading back there...

Don't waste your time going there. They always have a long list of fish and corals on craiglist as new shipping comming in and when you go there, half of the saltwater tanks are empty and most of the fish and corals that listed on craiglist is not even there. Most of the saltwater fish are in very poor condition. OK selection of freshwater fish but if you're looking for saltwater fish or corals, you might want to consider another location.

frownI went there 2 weeks ago looking for large Angels they advertised that day on CL and only saw one. I was pretty disappointed with their selection of saltwater fish and most fish looked unhealthy (cloudy eyes, missing scales...) except maybe for the fresh. I tried to talk to some of the staff and they seemed willing to sell me some sick fish. For me, I'd rather stick with the Lucky Goldfish in Oakland or my LFS (All about fish).

Just curious, how can you tell that they're flagging in CL.

Sadly to say that this place is worst then the 6th Ave in SF. The people don't know jack about saltwater, they can't even cycle the water. Would you believe that they're buying salt water from another source.

ditto, went there once, never heading back and if you thought 6th is bad, that place is worse.

I live just a few blocks from them. I go there every week just to checked how they are maturing. Sad to say they're slow in learning what required in keeping SW livestocks. Their prices are pretty much in line with other LFS not really warehouse prices as you might expect.

The one is Oakland is pretty nice actually, he has some very nice frag tanks and a good selection of corals. Its too bad that the one in SJ is ripping him off by taking his store name

I was actually there today. A small clam the size of 1.5" was $20 and one slightly larger about 2.5" was $50. When asked they told me they're ultra maxima, looks like a crocea to me.

I don't think I would go back here again. It's been a waste of time everytime. They're not even price competitive as the LFS and they use the motto "wholesale to the public", my ***!
