Well Luckie turned 3 years old last month! So I figured I better update the thread...especially since I cleaned the tank pretty good last night... Uneventful, no daredevil stunts, surely one of the easiest, least dangerous events in her charmed life.
If you need to catch up (I know it has been a while)
Lucky Turns 45 days old
...and now some new info...
Luckie has put on a growth spurt common with age and becoming female. Her mate (a year younger than she is) has accepted the role of male in this pairing. While I don't intend to breed these two, it is important to note that I have seen some nesting behavior for the pair.
Here is the happy couple "hiding" in thier cave (shot from the backside of the tank)
Here is Luckie out getting some food
Both of them out for a bite to eat
All in all, now that She is not being moved around alot she has led a pretty calm last 2 years. Apart from the occasional cleaning of the tank we don't disturb them much. One thing that I really like is when I have to catch them, they are so used to human contact that I can easily catch them with a cupped hand. They almost swim into my hands when I am in the tank... ah the life of Riley!
I hope to update more often from now on...
Thanks for the interest...
