lunar wrasse acting aggressive?

So i have a lunar wrasse (small), and he's obsessed with biting on my large koran angel's body. the angel seems sick. Is the lunar wrasse sensing his sickness and that's why he's picking on him? Or is he somehow trying to clean him?

anyone ever have this experience?

IME, Thalassoma sp wrasses get nasty (I doubt if I'll ever keep another), so it might be a combination of both. If your angel is particularly timid, it may be the reason as well.

They do act as cleaners in the wild, although I have only seen that behaviour on television when they were cleaning manta rays.

Good point, sometimes young wrasses do act as cleaners. It all depends on how large the wrasse in question is.

They're not so bad, but they do get large (a foot or so), and their adult coloration changes, so be sure to check that out, as they aren't nearly as vibrant as juvies.

I had to get rid of mine because it was just a terror. I would say it is being mean and not cleaning!!

Yep, lunar wrasses and the cousins are all pretty mean.

Any fish that can grab a sea urchin and beat them against rocks til they break into bits, is going to show some aggression.
