I just picked these up off amazon for 10 bucks delivered...they are jewelers glasses..... great for getting splinters out of kids hands and feet.....but much better out seeing corals and fish VERY up close.

and last post....it's a pod party!

Only on the Gold tank but I just saw this today....looks like 3 types that I can see (with my new glasses above!)

Some pods....some very small snail looking things...and some sponge feather dusters..... I was going to clean out the overflow and let them drain down to the sump...and then get back to the tank.....but I think I will let the party continue and hope for even more tiny additions.

OK intresting little tid bit...

both tanks are currently the same in all aspects except....

FOWLR runs an inline 54W UV but only 1 Reeflo Barracuda

REEF runs NO UV (adding it soon) but has 2 reeflo Barracudas (one is for the close loop)

Reef runs 1.8 to 2 degrees warmer because of the extra pump even with the UV on the other tank....

I have seen people asking how much heat a big pump can add to the temp.....

Sweet additions. I have the lamarck angel and he is just starting to get his streamers. He's been great and hasn't nipped at any corals.

ok...the bad....

Got an Oodinium outbreak in the FOWLR..... drove me nuts why I was losing fish that were doing great....every day one would turn up dead. Fish did not show signs of rapid breathing.....couldn't really see the "velvet".....didn't look like any type of bacteria disease....

Outside of treating the entire tank with copper...and moving all the anemones, sponges and starfish out...I decided to go fallow.....man is it a pain in the b.....

Not only tearing apart the coral structure to take all the rock out to catch the fish...but seeing an empty tank every day is killing me.

All the remaining fish are in QT....haven't lost one since treatment...knock on wood.....

so after I thought I caught every fish.....3 days after putting all the rock back into the tank....guess who pops up???? took me 2 days with the fish trap to get him....I think he was in one of the rocks I put back in and didn't see him.
