Lunch, my tank room is tiny and I regret not making it bigger. So much more can achieved when you have lots of space. When I can afford an extension and other stuff I'll definitely be figuring in a huge tank room.

Oh don't get me wrong I'd love to make it bigger but I can't. I'm basically taking up a closet in the living room and a closet in the bedroom on the adjoining wall. I'm just busting out a wall in between the two closets and that is my sump room. Not optimal but it is the only way that I can do it and get permission to do it right now. I mighth be able to move it when we tear out a wall and rearrange the basement but right now it will have to be that small

Well, I just got a buddy to take my 48x48x36" tank into his work and cut it in 1/2, weld it up, and powder coat it for me. He came and got it on Friday. Hope he understands what I wanted and does a good job.

Once I get the stand done up in two pieces so that it will fit downstairs I can bolt it together and get the tank up on the stand and start plumbing the closed loop...darn I need to buy bulkheads yet!

I'm also going to start ripping into the closets. Have to take down teh drop ceiling in the closets and rip down the ajoining wall between the two and then make a hole for a door on the end. I'd like to get it all in there and see how much room it really is.

Here is the mock up that I made

Once I start tearing stuff out I'll take pics along the way

You said tank, but you meant stand. I was wondering what the heck you were cutting in half.

Glad to see you getting this done. Will it be up and running when I come to town? :D

Opps...yeah that wouldn't be good to cut the tank in 1/2. It won't be up and running by the time you visit. I need to upgrade my whole house electrical panel before I can run this. I only have a 100amp breaker and we will do a 200amp I hope next summer. I can get it all plumbed in and planned out though.

See what you did Melev, your up coming visit finally got Eric jump started! :D

Nah...just finally got someone to fix...umm...cut my stand in 1/2. That is what is holding me up.

I say you sneak over at 1am, throw me in your car, and we wire the area ourselves while everyone's asleep. :D

I'm nocturnal, you know.

melev - I'd love to do that. But I'd have no panel to hook it to. I wouldn't mind wiring up the outlets quite a bit ahead of time so I can sheetrock and everything else. Guess I could gut, place the outlets, wire, sheet rock, plumb...and wait for the panel to get upgraded

Dude, panels are at HD. Breakers, wire, outlets, tools...Quit your wining and get on with it! :D

 Umm...not sure if that is legal...I do have some electrical buddys but I think they need to dig me in a new service line from the alley. Not sure if the city would like me trying that

DITCH WITCH...@ HD!!

The only time it's a problem is if you ask permission. When you lay the cable, make sure to drop in some RG11 too. ;)

Simple solution would be to turn off some of the non essential items in the house. Stove, refrigerator, washer & dryer, & central air. That should give you more than enough power to supply the new tank :)
