Lunchbucket's 48"x48"x20" Reef

FYI, the red handle BV does not turn all the way off. Probably not a big deal since you have another valve, but I found this out some time ago. Could just be manufacturing error on mine, but NONE of mine actually turn completely off.

Interesting.

I use them on my system for almost 2 years and have not once had an issue with that....

Like I said, it may be manufacturing irregularities, but I can plainly see that they do not entirely shut off in my case. When I went to change out my 2" drain lines, I shut them off to install the new pieces, but they still allowed water to drain out. I ended up having to pull the near side union to get it dry for the glue-up. And with that union off, they really leaked bad.

YAY! Someone brought back this thread.... This is my inspiration. It should be a beautiful tank with those dimensions. Have you figured out how you are going to do your rock work yet?

maxx - Things from the 58 are doing ok. I'm sure not as good as they could be but ok.

jnarowe - I'll double check mine but I think it closes.

icy - inspiration?? Wow those are big words....I'll be happy just to get it done :D

Haven't figured it out completely but will most likely do two mounds that taper off at the tips. Like a horse shoe probably?? I don't know w/ the two viewing sides it will be tricky. I do plan on having a completely separate island for ricordia and stuff like that I want separate from my SPS.

Any ideas for rock shapes?

been following this thread for a long time cant wait to see water in the mix.....keep up the good work

erics3000 - yep little by little. Had to work on the yard and new garage door yesterday and today :(

I did figure out how to plumb the front two outlets to make them work. Took me like 15sec each to figure it out but have not glued them. Amazing what you can come up w/ quickly sometimes.

Got the CL done tonight. The front two outlets were actually pretty easy

So CL system is done. Just need to tidy up some of the drain stuff and want to make the outlets reduce down from 1" to 3/4" female so I can thread 3/4" lockline in and have two cone shaped outlets on each side.

enough for tonight I'm tired...good thing is didn't take very long

LOL....too funny. Surprisingly it didn't take a whole lot to do all that. I have quite a bit of the savko flexible stuff left!

Glad to be done though.

Bax - I HOPE that it is enough flow. Have it hooked up to a sequence barracuda pump. Going to have that barracuda on the CL, Iwakit 55rlt as return and two tunzes (6100 and 6000 i think). Hope that will do it.

crab - In time...might be a while....not sure when I plan on starting it up.

jnarowe - LOL just trying to get the water all over the tank.

Wow, that's a lot of unions, dubv's. Any reason you went with all that? I understand about the disassemble, but that looks like a bit of overkill.
