Lunchbucket's 48"x48"x20" Reef

Geeze now the bombarding starts! I'll throw a shot glass in there if it makes you guys happy? I hope to rip out the rest of the sheet rock in the kitchen and put new back up this weekend. When I'm done w/ that I'll finish plumbing the OM unit and the tank....promise. I didn't want the kitchen/living room project but since we had a construction dumpster in my driveway for the old siding we might as well throw the crappy sheetrock (living room and kitchen) in there too. Sheet rock is only about $5.40 a sheet so it isn't a spendy project just some time and labor.

natty - I hope that I have inspired some people including myself :D It will be recessed just like in the pics. It is in it's final resting place right now.

Urban - Thanks man. I'll see if I can get a new pic of the 58. I took one less then a month ago let me find it.

Sad thing is I've been online for a total of about 30min in the last week :(

Here is the pic of the 58gal from April. Corals are starting to grow like weeds...I had RB's again :( I nuked them good and now the corals are growing crazy again and coloring up more. Tank is pretty much on autopilot right now :(

Yeah I need to scrape more. It is scraped more now then when the pic was taken

My slimmer is growing on the overflow

Lunchbucket

You think deltec makes an auto scraper?

A few of those corals are going to hit glass here soon!

Hop - I wish the made and "auto" scraper :D I have a mag float one w/ the piece from www.oceansmostions.com that works really well. Guess I need to pull it out of my fish stuff and use it :D

I already have knocked 1 or 2 off of thier mounting positions due to hitting them w/ the algae free floating scraper

How about an update??? You've surely gotten all the rest of your projects done in 2 months right?...I mean, you got the fish room/basement done in about a week, right?:lol::lol:

Haven't touched the tank/room. Did siding and windows and then started working on the kitchen and living room upstairs. That is about 90% done and I don't ahve time to work on it. Work mostly 6am-6pm and we are redoing the locker rooms at the gym I manage and we do almost ALL our own work. Put in 25 extra hours in 2 days

Oh I take that back when we redid the kitchen (reusing cabinets and stuff just resheet rocking and re design) we bought a new stove and got gas. This saved me a 30amp breaker in my TINY panel...just enough for my 2 dedicated 15amp breakers for my fish room.

Lunchbucket

Dang lunch, with all the work your doing to the house, you should have just built a new one  jk I am sure the house is looking great.

JCTweks - Considering I only havce a 100amp panel I NEEDED the room.

Sam - Well considering NOTHING new around here is going for less than about 180,000 umm...NOT going to build. Bought mine for WAY WAY WAY less. Just some sweat equity. Save money doing it myself just like DIYing reef stuff

Lunchbucket

Just read the thread through, LB, lovely build and I think you did the right thing having the layout like that, I love the look of in-wall tanks built on a corner. :D

Any new progess?

Jeff.

jeff - Thanks. Unfortunately I have not touched the tank in months :( BUT I do hope that I can get it up by my B-Day in October...hope but am not confident

Lunchbucket

I would but when your hands are busy training 35+ high school athletes, training clients, training in a new staff member, doing my normal work, yard work, kitchen remodel finish up, dog class, etc. I'm basically busy form 5:30am till 6pm and then I have stuff to do around the house. :( When it cools off or I get the remodel done I"ll have more time
