Lunchbucket's 48"x48"x20" Reef

No excuses Lunchbucket! :D No, I completely understand. Ive only been working on my tank for 3 years now and Im ALMOST ready to fill it up. You've got what, at least another year or so before you should even think about putting water in it!

I'm going to have to keep my eyes peeled on this thread now that the 58 is forcing your hand on this setup. You may even end up keeping your word, when is your birthday?

Resubscribed.... You know what this thread needs... Pictures of water:lol:

I tried posting to it last night....my thread was "stuck" I've been told.

crvz - Umm..my birthday was Oct 3rd...does Oct 3rd 2009 count :D I'll be done before the 1st of the year FOR SURE.

Well since the 58gal sprung a leak I HAVE to get the 200cube done now. All my stuff from my 58gal is in a rubbermade plastic tub like the ones you get at wally world.

Yesterday - Cleaned the tank inside and out very well w/ clean water and acrylic safe algae magnet pad. Got it all cleaned up and ready. Worked a touch on the drain plumbing. Prepping to see if I can fill a few bubbles in the seams. I got some Weldon and a syringe to see if I can inject some weldon in there and get rid of a few of the bubbles. Not sure if this is needed but I'd like perfectly clear seams

Tonight. Got the drain plumbing 95% done. Plumbed the return pump into 1/2 of the sump and have it to the top of the tank. enough for tonight.

Drain plumbed into Delctec AP701

Durso's almost done. Just need to put the safety strainers in them (pvc with cap on end and slits cut in them.)

I need to get some black vinyl to black off the side of the tank inside the room so that you can't look inside the room.

Hey...it's a start.

I got it in the wall fast...then other house projects took over. I had to get my wifes kitchen back to normal and outside needed some care. Still trimming out upstairs and other stuff but that can wait since it's getting cold out I have all winter to do this. I'm also putting in new windows at my mom's house.

Always busy. I wish I still had it in me. I haven't gone out in my yard this year except for a couple times with Sherman when we were beer tasting. The forest is taking it back I think.

I would put some black coroplast on that side of the tank. That way you could easily pull it off to view from that side when you felt like it. Black velcro squares will hold it in place.

LOL. My dog keeps me busy 1-2hrs of exercise/day so that is enough to eat up most of your time.

I hope to put a lot of hours in the tank the next couple of days/weeks.

stuff used to make political signs. kind of a corrogated plastic. check one out in your neighborhood. you can usually buy the raw material from sign companies.

I'll give you a couple month's extension. First of the year sounds great!

I've also used coroplast, and it's a great alternative. Any sign store should be able to get it for you in a day (if it's not in stock), and when I bought a sheet (4'x8') a couple years ago it was $18. 4mm thick plastic, so it's easy to cut and can handle the water. I applied it to the back of my tank with velcro behind the overflows, but being so light there are plenty of ways to use it.

Can't wait to see this thing running. Looks like you are pretty close too. I love the way you have setup your sumps and the tank dems are perfect. Props.

Ahhh....We have used that for some signage at our gyms. I know now. I am good buds w/ out sign guy and I know that he stocks it. Good call on using that stuff!!! I'll get some monday

garrettm - Thanks! I've tried to make sure I do things right the 1st time...hope I have.

Worked on the tank a couple nights this week. Quite a few hours tonight

Return plumbing. The white DUBV with red handle is a feed for my Ca Rx and reduces down to RO tubing and a fine tune needle valve

Start of CL plumbing. I used 90 street elbows in the two inlet lines for the CL. Didn't want to but needed some more room to keep the pump close to the stand w/out a lot of 45's

Inlet to CL pump done

Back to outlets on OM 4way done. The front two are going to be quite tricky. Front right will be much easier then the front left as the front left is very close to the drains for the inlet

Flex PVC and 45's make for a pretty clean set up w/ nice smooth bends

Hope to work on the last two outlets tomorrow night. After that I really don't have any more plumbing to do. Just hang the light rack, mount a few things, and double check everything

Forward progress is always good....you're getting there.

How are things from the 58 doing?
