Lunchbucket's New 58gal RR inprogress - LOTS OF PICS

We got about 3 inches, only two stuck, and its mostly gone this morning. I never ceased to be amazed at how poorly people drive when it rains or snows in this state, (MO). If chickens were falling from the sky or naked midgets wearing tutu's I could understand the driving antics/reactions of people, but rain and snow????

We had TONS of accidents....every non driving monkey and his/her brother was on the road searching for a ditch to drive into or other cars to crash into....

Thankfully none of them involved serious injuries.

Eric, you're getting another skimmer??? Dude, crack or heroin would be cheaper for you!

He could always change his signature....

"Nancy-Boy Extraordinaire" has a nice ring to it.

I go by Housemonkey Extraordinaire on a few other boards, so its not like he wouldnt be in good company.

APF600 is what you should have got in the beginning!!!:)

I would love to find out more on the Baby BK. Travis??:)

rottface4 - that is the way it goes. the ones you don't want ot grow quick to and the rare hot looking corals grow slow :sad1:

maxxII - the farther south the worse it is i bet. hmmm....falling from the sky or naked midgets wearing tutu's interesting thought..naked midget...but they are wearing tutu's...wouldn't that qualify as not naked? or is that like being naked and wearing socks. or goggles in Travi's case !!!

i should have went w/ the APF600 from the beginning like arconom said. oh well i'll have it now and won't really loose out much on $$

AFAIK, the new Bubble King line (smaller models) will be released at Interzoo this year along with the new line of Bubble King Deluxe (current models) and Bubble King Revolutions (new conical model with silver dragon brushless DC controllable pump). IIRC, Interzoo is in April or May. I'm sure there will be lots of pictures after they are unveiled.

BTW, I still have your D-D PO4 kit. Sorry, I keep forgetting to send it back. We did the round of tests last weekend.

it is NANCY BOY EXTRAORDINAIRE to you!!

Lunchbucket

Wow....now he's all proud of it! :D

Laughin at your new sig, but then I realized it makes me sound like I'm the Nancy Boy Extraordinare....either way made me laugh, which is a good thing.

We're busy tonight, somebody must have kicked over the rock that kept all the problem children/@ss monkeys from crawling out of their hole...I was at QT grabbing cup of coffee and watched a drunk guy spend 3 minutes, (I timed him) trying to figure out how to open the cooler doors to get a frozen pizza. It reminded me of watching my dog try and figure out how to at the rawhide bones on top of the fridge.

Once he figured out what side the door hinges were on, he was able to get the door open. Pizza in hand, he staggered to the counter and struggled to count out the correct change needed...then he stumbled out the door to his car, which was parked next to my cruiser, and climbed into the drivers seat.

I stopped him before he started his car and told him to call a ride. Naturally, he wanted to argue and insisted he was fine to drive, but I was able to convince him that calling his dad, (who lived a mile away), was a better idea. 20 minutes later, his dad arrived and started yelling at me his son was fine to drive, and why did I have to wake him up, etc. Before I could say anything, his son threw up on his dad's car. Dad shut up and grabbed his son (about 30 years old) and got him in the car. Not really sure, but I thought I saw the son vomit inside the car as they drove off....I hope he did at any rate.

I could just as easily followed the guy off the parking lot and hit with a DWI right down the street, towed his car, arrested him, and let him spent the night in jail....somedays it just doesnt pay to be nice.

hmmm....falling from the sky or naked midgets wearing tutu's interesting thought..naked midget...but they are wearing tutu's...wouldn't that qualify as not naked? or is that like being naked and wearing socks. or goggles in Travi's case !!!

Ya know, I'd managed to forget that mental picture....Thanks Eric.

BigT, good to see you over here too! Now all the troublemakers are in one thread!

Lunchbucket!

Ha! Wasnt even sure if you were still in tank life. :p

Good to see that your tank is doing very well. :smokin:

Oh btw, this is Manofathousalndpolyps from the other board. My tank has been up and down a few times since I saw last you (like 6 years ago). Finally started getting it back in shape last week.

maxx - nice ocifer story. isn't it funny how acts of kindness get taken nowadays? prolly more funny for him to puke in his dads car though :D

tat2demon - which other board???? reefs.org??? Sioux Falls?? you have met me??? oh man i'm at a loss. who are you...please refresh my memory

we have a Sioux Falls Area Aquarium Society now. please come join us. we have meetings, a website, a forum on this board, etc. finally getting up and running ok. hope to tlak to you more soon!

Lunchbucket

From Reefs.org. We met up at the gas station during one of your trips to Sioux Falls. I got an arrow crab, and something else from you. Cant remember what it was atm. :)

Ill definatly need to look into the club. Ive seen the flyer for it down at Mini's.

Thanks for the Turbelle->Stream upgrade pics Lunch, I'm planning to do the same pretty soon.

It's wonderful that after a year + of use [and I got it used] that their equipment can grow with my system. Heck, if I move back to more LPS some day I can convert it back :D

That new Acro is gorgeous, a LFS around here has one in their display tank that's similar that I've been drooling at for a while now. Yours looks even nicer

OH YEAH!!! i do remember now....dang that was FOREVER ago!!! i think it was an arrow crab and something else.

please do look us up. the website has when the next meeting is.

65gal tank now? any pics? done much w/ it lately?

Middleton - no problem. it's such an easy upgrade...and cheap for the amount you can upgrade.

yeah Tunzes are so versitile. one little part breaks you just replace that one and not the whole sticking thing like a lot fo POS things in this hobby.

only bad thing is that the new stream puts out so much flow that i have to dial it back all the way. also it has been a week or 2 and i don't think my cali tort is too happy. actually i just looked and the highest tip that sticks up has some flesh that is gone. only the top 2 tips look not happy...the rest of the colony is loving the flow. i suppose the top two are more inthe direct stream and not used to it yet :( i might have to relocate the colony down about 2" or so.

thanks buddy. i hope it acclimates well and colors up like i think it can. it has serious potential IMO. i'll keep posting pics when it starts to grow...hope it isn't a slow grower

Lunchbucket

Travis don't keep us in suspense!!! Post the results in your thread. Or in Lunchs :)

I predict

1.Colorimeter
2.Hach
3 Deltec

Here are the results:

Lunchbucket's water:
Hanna 0.00
Deltec 0.00
Hach test 1 0.08
Hach test 2 0.02

I think that is what the Hach tests were. Lunchbucket can correct me if I was wrong. Regardless, I was suprised to see the variation in the Hach tests. The Hach is a multi-colorimeter.

My water:
Hanna 0.11
Deltec 0.03
Hach 0.11

Testing... Seeing lots of email notifications from Eric. I have notified the staff in the Comments & Suggestions forum.

Edit: Seems fixed to me.

Travis, what were you testing for?
