everythign is going good. the yellow tang is eating soem bryopsis. especially after i pull it. when it is short he tears into it more. need to change my po4 media again soon (1wk or so) and need to pluck more bryopsis again. seems to be receeding well

all the colors are really coming around. not sure why but could be the increased feedings...i think that is what is helping out.

i'll take some detailed pics after i pluck bryopsis and let everything settle for a day or 2

Thanks Lunchbucket !!

Yes it is very informative.
I really expend the time because I am in the process to setup a tank very very similar like yours, so I need to have the idea.
The other important thing is the consideration of the electricity consume, because here in Mexico that is a big issue to setup a reef tank.

;)

sam - thank man. i like the 20k look better but i like tanks w/ a blue hue

Reef Man - let me know if you ahve any questions along the way

I like your coralline border. :D The tank looks good, Eric. You should feed more, so your corals will color up. Plus the Bryopsis is probably starving by now. ;)

yeah yeah i need to scrape the coraline border off of the front and sides..but i'm too lazy to take out the mag scraper and do it. plus it frames the tank so well :D

i am feeding more and i added that yellow tang...that should increase the bioload. the colors have increased considerably IMO in the last month or two. i just need to watch it so the bryopsis doesn't get out of control. it hasn't subsided....but it hasn't gone out of control. it seems that some patches die off and then new ones in a different part of the tank pop up. i'm just gonna change the po4 media every month (min) and keep pulling it as i can. ii want to feed the tang about 2-4" X 1" of nori/day but i would hate to have him stop nipping at the bryopsis just to get this nori treat :( such a loosing battle. i think if i had a refugium that would definately help. but my sump is so small i can't fit one in there. if i didn't have that huge arse ca rx under the stand i could do a 20L sump and have plenty of room. not sure if i should move it (ca rx) outside the stand and do a 20L sump or what?

Cool look with the 20K. Tanks looking good "lunch". I also like the coralline border. A friend has similar on his 170. I think it gives the reef a picture frame type look. :)

Lunch .
Do you ever try small sally lightfoot crabs for the bryopsis?
I use two and they ate it all up . I never had any problem with them so far .
I never had bryopsis just die off by it self . My just stay the same size never growing you need to get it out your self or get something to eat it, like the YT you have my don't like to eat it at all. I was in a fellow reefers home some time a go and i saw his SLF crab eating the bryopsis right there in front of me so i got two to try sure enough they clean it all up it was not that much bryopsis in my tank so the two was ok for me.
Some reefers had some problems with this crabs when they get big so i may have to get them out in a year or two if they get bad.

Zoom - interesting. not gonna go out and buy any prolly. too much of a risk IMO. i'll keep it pulled and short for him to eat

melev - good idea'r

jay - thanks ;)
