lyretail anthias in 75 gallon

Hi all,
I was looking to add a male and female lyretail to my tank. Are these species to big for a 75? Currently I have a 3in yellow tang, bluethroat trigger 3.5 in, 2 2.5in perculas, 2 small wrases and some green chormis. I have yet to have problems with Bio-load, but I could remove some of the chromis to make room. Thoughts?

IMO it would be too much...maybe a smaller species anthias and also it's too small for the trigger.

I think a single specimen of Bartletts' anthias would be perfect for not only that tank size, but also temperament-wise as well. They max out at around 3.5-4 inches and are even hardier than many of the others (maybe except lyretail). I would watch the trigger, though, to make sure aggression is not severe since both are primary planktivores.

some of the best info I have read on anthias is in " Reef Fishes vol 1 " by scott w michael

Thanks for the help. My trigger is a wimp so I don't see him causing too much trouble :) I really like the look of the Bartletts. I think I will look into some of them. Oh, lastly, you recommend a single specimen, but don't they do better with at least 1 male and 1 female? Thanks for the ideas and help!

Bartletts' will do just fine with a single specimen. That is the beauty of this species. Lyretails can too, but they are a bit more aggressive.

That is a male, but IMO, the females aren't too shabby either. You never know, it may "decide" to change into a male. Can't find a good pic that does them justice right now. I think someone has them in their avatar, as well.
