Macna report

While sitting here in our hotel room this afternoon I thought I would share how Macna went for us ;)

The most important thing above all is to thank everyone for their support and positive feedback we received, it is so nice to meet our current and prospective new members to ProfiLux directly. I think it was also very much welcomed that people could meet the Guru behind ProfiLux that being Matthias.

The show for us produced many new outlets especially in the tank installation sector, there are some very high end installers in the USA now only using ProfiLux for their clients needs.

We are also very thankful to the large amount of USA dealers that have shown great interest in bringing GHL to their local client base, and in the coming months I hope to announce each one here as they come on board carrying active stock holding.

The biggest highlights of course was for people to touch and feel the Vortech module that has huge abilities, the Touch screen that is industry leading and received rave reviews even though it was in prototype form.

For me though the biggest highlight was to see the early development of the new .NET software being launched just before or just after Christmas, this by far is the framework we have all been waiting for and the ease of functionality is clear for all to see (once of course you get to see it ;) )

I must also pay a huge respectful thank you to Joel and Gareth from Progressive reef, and also John from fish and other itchy stuff for their huge support in both GHL and Aqua Digital in helping make the event a success.

Meeting up with Matthias and his lovely wife for us was highly important, many new areas of expansion have now been set for long term growth and support. The first thing that everyone will see before Christmas will be a step by step basic set up guide, this will come as a CD with all new ProfiLux;s and also be available online. We hope this alone will remove many of the basic set up questions we receive. I will be asking current users for input in writing this as our aim continues to make GHL a community spirited support group.

Phone support will also now be made available, we will announce more details of this in the coming weeks.

I will leave Gareth to follow on with photos of us all, looking beat and exhausted from too much drinking, er I mean meeting and greeting ;)

Thanks again to everyone, we leave Florida now with great excitement in the future of ProfiLux and all the new updates just around the corner.

Here we go!

To start, here is the GHL crew that worked the booth, from left to right; Gareth (me), Michael (Aqua Digital), Matthias, Joel (Owner of Progressive Reef).

Here is what you guys should be pretty excited about, I know I certainly was! Try as I might I couldnt get Matthias to part with this precious prototype!

Presenting, the Profilux touch:

The screen itself has a pretty decent viewable size, much larger then I was expecting! The resolution, while not in the realm of a crazy HDTV or whatnot is very sharp and clear (beyond what is probably required, we arent planning on watching any action films on our aquarium computers!). The response to the touch interface itself is remarkably sensitive and was very easy to use. The future plans for this unit will be very attractive to the home user who wants remote control and stat viewing with the head unit hidden from sight.

The Unit itself is connected to the PIII via a PAB cable. Power is still being experimented with, as the unit draws more amperage then the PAB interface is capable of providing. An additional AC power cable will most likely come with the unit, with an optional "PAB power booster" as a potential expansion. These options are being explored and will be finalized once manufacturing costs are determined.

The Touch will come with the same mounting options as the current View II screen. For the show we used the gooseneck and had it mounted to our display tank.

Another eagerly anticipated device we were featuring was the Vortech controller. This is by far one of the coolest modules we will be offering for pump control. A single module can independantly control several Vortech pumps with a multitude of options far beyond the simpl slave/counter slave options we had originally been discussing. Some last minute firmware updates and a little debugging from the helpful Vortech crew (also at MACNA) had this unit showing itself off nicely!

We had our "waves" just rocking this little tank in a pretty cool display but we instilled a little panic with the AI Lighting crew with fears of us drenching the lights we borrowed off them! (sorry guys)

No Problem!

It was a good show for sure, I'll put up some albums from the dinners too, but most of the pictures didnt turn out (still trying to get used to the new camera).

Disregard my emails then, I had no idea nobody was at ghl direct to answer emails. No wonder why my stuff never shipped.

GHL Direct is me actually, I'll be taking a look when I return to work tomorrow and filling all back orders.

There should have been an auto reply saying I was out of the office, my apologies for the confusion.

No big deal, I placed a order on the 27th and never got a tracking # so I emailed like 4 times.... I wasn't even thinking about the MACNA event. Yeah no auto reply. Sorry for the extra emails

It was a pleasure stopping by the booth and viewing the products....A special thanks goes out to Michael from (Aqua Digital) and Matthias who spent about 45 minutes explaining the features and showing myself just a little of what the P111ex could do and what it is capable of....After seeing this and meeting the people behind the product I can now say that I will have one of these on my large tank soon.

I also loved the thunderstorm effect on the small display tank!! Truly awesome....
