mag drive 7 as return?

I run a 1800gph mag drive 9.5, but I did quiet mine down by putting rubber matting under the fuge, and under the pump itself using the mat that came with the pump. I also used a section of 6" flexible rubber hosing instead of the hard pvc piping. It's pretty darned quiet now, but dang was it 'growly' before! They put out a little heat, also, fyi.

Sorry, meant Mag Drv 18, not 9.5.... needed to clear that up. I do have a mag drv 9.5, also, but have only temporarily used it in the DT as a back-up for cycling water, and haven't formed an opinion yet.

Go to a plumbing supply place with your nozzle and see if they cant help you out. There's a million ways to do it, and you'll have to figure out how you want to do it looking at the pieces available to you at the store.

This is what I did to my mag-7 pump. Made a diverter to send a bit of water over to my skimmer section or else it'd suck my sump dry. Was $7 worth of PVC and a valve.
