NEW PICS

NEW PICS

just some new pics of the livestock.. Unfortunately I think my sixline is gone; there's no sign of it, so unless they are known to hide for days at a time I think it's accurate to say Rest In Peace.

here's a depressing picture of my tank with the 3 powerheads in it--I'm SO glad I was able to get my wavemaker back up.

a shot of some corals

here's magellan in the anemone. I was lucky to be able to move the anemone from the back of the tank to its spot in the front. (it takes alot of patience--not for the anemone, but for being constantly bitten by the clownfish)

here's a neat pic of the rabbitfish in its "camo" colors

and here are the zoanthids i picked up from Doug on sunday; really nice frag.

Doug's got some awesome coral, so if you ever get the change to run to yukon it's really worth while. His display tank is really awesome, too. I got two more things from him, but I'll have to post pics of them later.

Nice pics!!

I finally picked up a foxface on Sunday and he was displaying his camo colors like yours. I didn't know about the camo and initially thought he was dying. Then I observed him going in and out of camo, like flipping a light on and off. So I figured then that it was probably a normal stress response.

I'm heading to Doug's house tomorrow to pick up some of his corals.

I think it's also a mood thing, too. You'll have to post some pics of yours and your new coral! Doug's got some awesome stuff.

Magellan, glad you like your goodies. The zoas frag is looking good, you picked out some nice ones.

Brad, see you Thursday...

my urchin is soo getting on my nerves knocking over frags... I don't want to superglue all of them in case i need to move them as they grow--or as my anemone grows T__T.

So does anybody want my tuxedo urchin? it's 2.75" Trade for frag. =D or $10 dolla make ya holla...please?

I think I like this pic better smaller and with a little more saturation:

and here's the other pic I took that night, titled "Oh, Romeo.." like poor magellan wishes she had a little yes man to boss around, lol.

BTW, gws76..did that video of the wave2k help you visualize at all??

Sure did, I'm sold.LOL
Thank you, wave2k going in the new tank.
Makes me wonder why more people are not using them, could be astetic reasons. I like them though.

Wow! I really like the wavemaker, bujt it seems REALLY loud. Is it just louder in the video, or does it make that much noise? Really neat concept though.

Tank looks great btw.:D

thanks. the wavemaker does make noise, but Adam said that an overflow makes more, so..we'll see once I set it up. I took the cover off for the video and also the house was dead quiet--which was nice!--and we also have a rag under it which also quiets it more.. it all depends on what you consider "loud." Sure it hums, but it's more like a background noise. It's comparable to the sound a dryer makes when you can hear it humming from another room. I can easily tune it out. I hate dead silence.

I think we should set up a sticky dating thread for us single reef geeks and geekettes...

Here's mine:

Must love red flame hawkfish...
SRGF, likes to dream of walks on the beach (but can't afford one due to cost of keeping reef tanks.) My perfect male would be strong enough to carry two 5 gal. jugs of water while emoting a poem about how smart, talented and beautiful I am. He would think water changes are fun. No smokers! Sense of humor a must!

Your urchie???

yes i do. what'll it be? wanna trade? or $? =)

cute sheryl.. but magellan is the name of my clownfish, lol, i wasn't referring to myself. i got the best hubby ever. <3

most definitely! my arm is thoroughly twisted. ;) and he comes with a crown of free grape algae. So it's like he comes with his own food supply--if you don't have any algae in your tank (but i think everyone does) Sounds goo!

just some updated pics.. dunno if you can see the growth but it's there. Also I got this really cool dead coral ("live rock") that i'm using to block the anemone from touching my hydnophora...blasted thing is already huge again. a split this or next month is prolly due. My fish are becoming less shy. (though my yellow wrasse had already retired when I took these)
