Magfloat question

I have a razor attached to the front of my mag float. Despite my best efforts, it rusts and I clean it and replace the blade. I've always detached it from the tank and kept it stored when not in use. If I just leave it attached with the blade submerged, will it still rust? Is this what people generally do, or do they store them when not in use? Thanks.

PS. Finished setting up my tunze ato today. I am very pleased.

I have the same set up. I take the blade out each time and wipe it off. I bought the extra stainless blades and they will rust too. Works great but is a pain to take out each time.

I use single edge razor blades. They will rust within minutes if not rinsed and dried. I find that if I use rodi, they stay perfectly clean til I use them the next time.

Thanks for the feedback. I have replacement blades, but I've been rinsing in tap without removing the blade. Maybe this will lengthen the blade life and reduce the effort.

are these special mag floats which have an attachment for a razor, or did you all DIY attach the blade? if thats the case, how did you go about it?

After owning the razor attachment, I'll never go without one again... makes short work of coraline! :)

Like Gary, I always remove the magnet after use and rinse with tap. Grenade, here's a pic. It glues to the wet side of a large Magfloat.
