Magnets

The magnets work with everything, pumps, skimmers, calcium reactors. All products except SYSTEM components. They run about $35 and $50 the smaller one is for 1/2" glass and the big one for 3/4" and big items like the Calcium Reactor, Bio Reactor and 6200.

I just purchased two 6000's. Now I have to wait for the magnets to arrive!! It's driving me crazy!!! It's like sitting in a Porsche without having the Key to start her up :(

You should be able to use the included holders on an AGA tank. Don't lose the holder because parts of it are still needed with the magnet.

Really? I thought I had to buy an additional Holder. great! This gives me something to do tonight! :)

No, about 2 months ago we started to include them. Germany is extremely environmentally conscience so it took a lot of convincing to get parts included that may be thrown away and that is why they were not included before. They are in there now though. Their is a seperate bag that will have instructions for Oceanic and some long stainless steel screws with a black anodized coating. Follow the oceanic instruction but cut the black plastic ferrule to be a spacer since AGA trim is thicker and a bigger spacer is needed. Place one end in the suction cup and screw the threaded end to the bottom of the rail.

Ferrule?? Is that a long black cylinder looker thing that is threaded inside?(I only know because I have an osmolator). If that is what's needed than my stream did not come with that. It looks to have all other parts included(Stainless steel mounting screws). By the way, all mounting hardware came in the same bag. I did not get a separate bag.

Thanks
John

The black cylinder is it. It acts as a spacer, you should have gotten a few parts a tiny screw, a nut, a suction cup and that ferrule- all can be used as spacers depending on the situation. I guess they changed it again. I will check one of mine in inventory tomorrow.

Roger,

I was able to get the bracket to work. These things are awesome!! The flow is great. Not too strong yet it moves alot of water. I'm glad I went with 2 6000's. I figure I can always dial down alittle if needed. So far I have them on full force with no problems. I'm still looking forward to getting the magnets as I'm alittle concerned about how sturdy those brackets are. Have you had any problems with the brackets coming off? Thx

The brackets don't come off if you do it right. In my Gallery is a picture of an assembled unit for Oceanic.

Why doesn't it work, is it loose? Are the screws too short?

I think I may have confused you. It does work. The bracket is tight and does not move. I just was worried about how secure it will be. There doesn't seem to be any room for error since there is little material actually holding the bracket onto the tank(outside part of the tank).

A little less than .5" should overlap the trim. If they are tight, I have never had them slip.

I just got notification that mine are shipping from Marine Depot, should have them tomorrow.

Roger, I currently angle my streams up slightly (it helps keep my substrate from blowing around) will I be able to do that or will I need to modify the holder?

You could possibly shim the magnet upwards slightly with a small piece of plastic at the bottom. They come with rubber feet that improve adhesion and try just applying them at the bottom to see if that does it. Otherwise I don't know of any way to slightly up angle them.

BTW Doug, I have a find that may interest you. A snazzy Apple bumpersticker that says "I don't do Windows" I can mail you one if you like. I bought a few off of Ebay when I was looking for an old IIgs to play with.

Okay - I'll figure something out. It doesn't have to be much.

Sure - I'd love the bumper sticker!

I'll send you one. You know I have a VW van and so I have made it a parody by placarding it with corporate logos, beer signs and NRA stickers  Visualize Whirled Peas

LOL - Nope. It's currently a 2003 Tiburon but I hope to replace that with a SLK320 next year.

;)
