hi all, super new here, i dont have a salt tank yet, buying pieces here n there. any way, i work part time doing tank maintenence for a reef store.i do mainly freshwater tanks and a couple of saltys for establishments.schools dealerships old folks home, stuff like that.



this is my first build with him, these will be my tanks to maintain every week or more if needed, one is a 350 reef tank, and the other is a 500 fowlr.the owner wants aggressive fish or rays, we dont know yet.any way heres some pics

im having a hard time putting pics up so i hope the links work.any help would be appreciated

so we are having a really hard tim,,e making a rock wall to cover up the over flow. we only have 6 inches from the inside wall of the tank. anybody have any ideas to help me out, stacking all the way to the top is troublesome

heres the wal we are trying to build, but no luck getting to the top with everything collapsing. all i can think of is some kind of epoxy/glue,please help.

Build it on a flat surface in 3 pieces.
Stand them up in place after curing.
Fill in any open spaces.

Hydrolic cement works well for securing rock but does require cure time and water changes

Looks great man. Love the hallway and for what it's worth, you don't lose your man card when you can fit that behemoth chandelier in "your" master bathroom. Hell, may as well throw a basketball hoop up in there and get a pick up game going. :lmao:

For some reason, I thought this tank was going to be glass, so I went back to the first page and saw this is going to be fish only for now. Is this still the intention? Also, I see your builder has some coral insets in another tank. Maybe it would be wise to have them do an insert but stick some rock in/on it rather than fake corals. Would be a lot easier to do it now rather than trying to do it when the tank is in place and when/if you want to add corals you'll already have the structure. Just a thought.

Ok the suggestions sounds good. Ill slide it by the boss.

So .you mean build the wall in the tank, while using epoxy. Or do you mean assemble and epoxy out of the tank??

I cant do water changes, so thats a big no no. The owner of the shop would have a heart attack.plus if i change a buch of water then the salt is out of my pocket. Whats a good epoxy without doing wc

Sump on the 350 is up and running . it's a pain to clean the skimmer already. It has a double collection cup. The lower cup doesnt pop out to rinse. Ill take a pic later on. I forgot i guess

so we decided on not using epoxy, we as in the boss. the wall is up on both sides. finally.
