majano anemone hand removal

Does anyone have experience removing majano anemone's from rock by hand?

I bought some rocks with beautiful zoa's on that I'd like to scavenge but I'd first like to remove some of the majano's before I start fragging. I've been able to pull off a couple, but they are in some zoa colonies as well

There are some horror stories on here about majano's taking over tanks, I'd like to prevent that.

Any tips outside of buying a non-reef safe fish would be appreciated.

The best I've heard so far is blocking light and leaving a small light source so the majano's head to it (can't do that because of the zoa's).

Thanks!
Chris

I dunno if manjos are similar to aptasia but I had rock covered in mushrooms and zoas and there was a bunch of aptasia mixed in. I bought 3 peppermint shrimp and within 5 days all aptasia was gone.

Google reef napalm. You will have to be careful of the zoas but the majanos will not come back.

I'll try that tonight. I currently have them in a 20g quarantine tank, so I'll have to do a water change right afterwards to avoid messing with alk to much.

Only reason I asked about hand removal is someone wants a few for his anemone tank.
