Hello,

I recently posted a thread about an emperor and got the answer that it would be to small in a 90g. I have two people say a Majestic Angel but i wanted to see what you guys think about this in a 90g.

Its a poll but please right some info to. I did some research on them but there is always more to learn.

I'd have to agree you might enjoy a dwarf angel more in the 90g.
Have you had a look at the smaller angels yet-they are quite stunning.:)

Majestic are more sensitive to changes and 90 is much less stable than larger tanks...
between both ... emperor would handle better the 90 ...

Id think the Emperor would do better in the 90 untill it matured then you may have to find it a new home. Id be looking at 1 of the Dwarf angels, there are some with really stunning colors.

Could it depend on the aquascape though?

IMO, no it won't matter. It is just going to get too big for that tank. I had a blueface (( Pomacanthus/Euxiphipops xanthometopon )) which is very similar, in my 75. Raised it from a Juvi, but had to sell it --- was just getting too big.

Fair point. What would you recomend as a compromise fish for him? Is there a dwarf angel that has a similar look to some of the larger fish?

Thanks for the very informational answers guys. looks like i will not be going with a blue face or an emperor. What are some other small angels like the dwarfs that would be a good inhabitant to the tank. That is more trust-worthy to be reef safe ever though i know its a hit or miss. I do love the coral beautys and flame angels.

I love the bicolor, potters and flameback. To me the bicolor has the shape and look of the larger species.
Also, i cant remember your other fish, but have you considered the chevron tang. Thats a lovely fish for a 90g

Bicolor I now own, myself. But they are FAR from a beginers fish ( this is actually the 2nd one, the first one faded away, like they often do). Awesome little girl, but one of the less Reef Safe Centropyge angels. Keyholes are cool, too. They can also get over 6 inches in size.
Don't EVER forget Flames, Coral beauties, Cherubs ( very aggressive & smaller probably than you might want though) Etc. Remember there are at least 30 different "Dwarf" angels to choose from.

Positive note for C. bicolor- has more than a passing resemblence to both Queen angel & Rock beauty angel.

Yea, I personally would stay away from a Bi-color -- for both there love of nipping at corals, and they can be difficult to keep alive.

I haven't had any issues from my Potter's, Multicolored and Flame, as far as being reef safe, though each fish will be different.

Normally, I would have, but I fell in love! Such an EVIL emotion!

But its a High Maintnance relationship!

Well i just got back from the fish store. Picked myself up a coral beauty. Always loved these fish. Saw one and had to have it. I will post some pictures tomorrow for you guys!

I have looked at them but i already have two tangs. Sailfin and Kole so i am pretty much stocked out on tangs.
