Hi
Has anyone any real time experience at using Majestic or Asfur Angels v Aiptasia as opposed to Berghia Nudi's, Filefish or Copperbands?
I currently have a growing population of Aips, l have no big Angels, when l had Angels l had no Aips.......
Thanks for any return.
Mike

Angels will not eat it. Some butterflies will maybe. Copperbands sometimes will, for example.

Ok. I ask as l've read in threads on here that people have experience with these two Angels eating them, thought l'd start a thread to see what comes back.

I've had a majestic that took care of my aptaisia problem. But it was also eating my LPS.

Thanks for this. Sounds like the usual all fish are different.... I once had an Asfur, Blueline and Majestic in the same tank, l had no Aips, the Angels didn't touch lps or sps. I had a parasite issue a couple of years back, l lost the Angels. Without the Angels l've had Aips, l tempted to buy another Majestic.

I honestly believe all butterflies and most angels will eat aiptasia. I've never had a tank with angels and/or butterflies have aiptasia. If I move the angels out of their clear-of-aiptaisia tank the pest soon shows up. If I put a butterfly into an aiptasia tank, it is soon cleared. If I put an aiptasia rock in with butterflies it is soon clean.

That being said, I've never witnessed them eating the aiptasia unless it was a racoon butterfly or copperband.

Asfur angel most definitely will eat aptasia and majano. I used one for pest anemone control for many years. Will leave most corals alone, though mine ate all my zooanthids.

Note the lack of pest anemones .... and zoos

Great Stuff jmm and ca1ore. Now we just need someone to post a pic with Angels galore and a shed load of Aiptasia!

I got thinking it's surely more than coincidence that l no longer have my Angels and l'm getting issues with Aiptasia.....

Im with you, i have a sneaky suspicion my goldflake enjoys eating aptasia, and also my potters...

Well fed angels and butterflies more than likely won't touch aiptasia. If you cut back on the feedings and make the anemones more desirable to eat (out of hunger) they will be eaten. I had aiptasia in my 220g years ago and none of my angels would touch it. My tank was well fed, when I cut back on feedings they anemones were gone in short work
