Hi Chaps

A Very interesting thread indeed! I must say that I'm very interested in these AI units, but rather disconcerted about the lack of information about them. Chris - Are the specs availible from the AI website - Cause I don't even see this particular product on there??

As for many people, cost is a considerable factor when running a large marine aquarium. I myself have been thinking about going down the LED route from both a cost saving perspective and a saving the planet perspective! Hence I would be very interested to calculate the running costs per module, and the stats on illumination / penetration in comparison to say a 150 Watt Halide. But I can't find hardly any stats on this.

CHRIS - Please HELP :) As I need to justify spending a HUGE amount of money to the Mrs, and won't be able to do so without the figures to back it up :)

So to summarize - Please post a full spec sheet for these units, along with some stats on power consumption etc......

Thanks Chaps

Please look through the HUGE thread "Holy Solaris..." there's several pages of Hanhmeisters review and stats of the AI unit in that thread...it's exactly what you're asking for and from a very intellegent guy.

you need firmware version 4.01 for the unit
then you have the option "special lamp" like Todd mentioned

with version 4.01 you can alter the settings only on the device itself

4.02 is in development with AI support in ProfiLuxControl

Thanks, once I finally get this thing working, I'll try it out!

Hiya

There is no link here for the PFO solaris as the ProfiLux does not support it sorry. We have asked them but they do not have an external interface which would mean a complete product re work.

Sorry, I was looking for the thread kalare mentioned that contained information about the AI unit:

Do a search on RC for it, you'll find it. OR...use google. type in the search bar: site:reefcentral.com holy solaris

No, we are not marketing the unit, only the connection.

However we are in the early stages of something we will be marketing late this year or early next.

Where can I get instructions for hooking up the AI lights with the Profilux controller? The lights are assembled and the Profilux is plugged in. All I need now is some setup instructions to get the two communicating!

Thanks for all the help! I was able to get the lights running on the tank this weekend. Now, I just have to configure the Profilux to control them properly. They're doing some weird dimming cycle right now and its creating a strobe light effect in the tank. Good thing I don't have anything in there yet.

I had the same problem on mine. I ended up unplugging the Profilux and then replug it in. Seemed to fix it.
When you uplug it the Profilx the lights should turn off and then once the Profilux has rebooted it should control the lights.
