Major Product Announcement

Has anyone received the Aqua Illumination and ran it off the Profilux yet? I should be receiving my fixture next week.

Just got shipping notification on the lights and they should be here tomorrow. I still need to get the cable for the Profilux before I can hook it up. I emailed Cherry Corals this morning to find out how to get it.

Yes, Todd responded earlier this morning. I just hadn't read my email from that account yet this morning. He has one reserved for me. :D

I have my Aqua Illumination fixture coming in this week with Profilux cable aready attached and was wondering if the software had been implemented in the Profilux to control the AI fixture yet?

Can I have the part number for the profilux cable that accompanies the aquaillum lighting?

I'm surprised that AI doesn't include the cable as an option - but as long as I can order it that's fine.

With thanks,
Erik Ages

There is no part number as yet.

email me and I will sort out one for you we have been supplied a few FOC by GHL so just the shipping costs are to be paid to you.

EMAIL NOT PM :(

When I ordered my AI Fixture Chris @AI was very said he would supply one so I am sure they would do the same again you just have to request it.

I just got my cable several days ago, don't have the profilux set up yet...darn WLAN.

Anywhoo, I plugged it to the unit (there are two ports, should I be using a particular one?) and tried the lighting demo and ..... NADA.

Do we need to update software or firmware first?

No but please read the VERY important warning note that is in the to of your ProfiLux as to where to plug the power bar.

Failure to adhere to this will invalidate the warranty.

Please let us know which port you have plugged into.

Best thing to do is kick back read the manual and start from the beginning step by step set up, dont rush into anything too hasty

If you are referring to the Ai cable it can only plug into one port, the RS232 port. For Ai you also need to be using V4.01 desktop and firmware also

Here to help

Best wishes
Michael

Definately plugged into the correct port on the profilux unit. I was referring to the AI unit, there are two inputs for power, and two inputs for data. I'm assuming I can use either, but am not sure.

I um running version 4 on unit, and 4.01 desktop software...(yet to be able to connect to software though). Shouldn't the light demo be able to run the AI though?

you need firmware version 4.01 for the unit
then you have the option "special lamp" like Todd mentioned

with version 4.01 you can alter the settings only on the device itself

4.02 is in development with AI support in ProfiLuxControl

Jane, I presume you have your cable(I sent it last Thursday). Did you try it out yet?

Pics?

Yes, I did get the cable. Thank you very much!!! :D I haven't hooked it up yet. I'm still waiting for hubby to finish plumbing the tank. If I have time this weekend, I may hook up the lights on the empty tank just to see how they look. I'm very anxious to get these lights up and running.

Hi Chaps

A Very interesting thread indeed! I must say that I'm very interested in these AI units, but rather disconcerted about the lack of information about them. Chris - Are the specs availible from the AI website - Cause I don't even see this particular product on there??

As for many people, cost is a considerable factor when running a large marine aquarium. I myself have been thinking about going down the LED route from both a cost saving perspective and a saving the planet perspective! Hence I would be very interested to calculate the running costs per module, and the stats on illumination / penetration in comparison to say a 150 Watt Halide. But I can't find hardly any stats on this.

CHRIS - Please HELP :) As I need to justify spending a HUGE amount of money to the Mrs, and won't be able to do so without the figures to back it up :)

So to summarize - Please post a full spec sheet for these units, along with some stats on power consumption etc......

Thanks Chaps
