Male dominant hobby?

I know Reefing is generally a male dominant hobby, but I am curious to the ratio here on Long Island

People seem to be surprised when they meet me in person for the first time, thinking I am a guy (come on, we don't always swap names upon meeting either)

Unfortunate, but true, women are a rarity in the hobby.

I have 4 adult daughters, they've all ewwed and awwed over the tank since they were kids, but none has decided to start a tank of their own, yet.

At one time, I was very active in seahorse keeping... for some reason, there seemed to be more women interested in that niche than in reefkeeping.

I thought about doing a dwarf pony tank in my little 9 gal nano (That used to be a reef before I upgraded), but decided they were just too much work. Went freshwater instead.

No matter what gender a reefer is a reefer.
Some of the harder fish to breed have been done by a gal in Hawaii.
