Hey guys
I have been given the opportunity to have a Malu Anemones to come live in my tank. It was very white when I first adopted it from the LFS. It is now a very dark brown colour. (which means it healthy?) just wondering if anyone has any experience with these anemones, Ihave not found much info on them,

Im sure someone with one will chime in on here as there seems to be some on here with them. But if its rich in color, that def. is a good sign and must be doing well to have recovered from being bleached

Welcome to RC! Yes turning brown is a good sign. If you've gotten that far on your own you are doing quite well. They like to be fed regularly like most anemones, and H. Malu is a sand anemone as you likely already know. They don't get huge like carpet or LTA anemones, but some clownfish will still be hosted by them. What were you wanting to know? And if you can please post pics so we can see your new friend.

was wondering if they were friendly, I want to add a rose tip anemone. My clown does not seem to want to live with the malu. He never seems to move so I was thinking that if the rose tip stayed away from him they should be able to live together

Actually I'd say that's not a bad idea. Both anemones are fairly hardy once they're settled in, and BTAs will never go anywhere in the sand so they will most likely never touch. I would suggest staying current on your carbon just to be safe but it should be fine.

What about reproduction. are they hermaphrodites? What is your experience with them splitting. Any info you guys have would be great.
