First off I'm not planning on getting one for my current tank. I know its too small. I'm in the process of acquiring equipment for a 120 gallon build and i definitely want to house a mandarin. My question is how do you get it through QT without starving? Just curious how others have done it. Dose pods everyday? I figure it would give me a chance in QT to try to get it to accept frozen foods but if that fails how many pods do you dose?

Mandarin's are the one fish that I have not bothered to QT for this reason, and the fact that their very heavy slime coat seems to help keep them from getting things like ich and such.
Yes, there is still a slight chance of having an issue, but that is very slight IMO.
There are some people that do QT them, and if so you can buy pods online if you wish to go that route.
Pulling chaeto from your fuge and shaking it in tank will also add pods.
