Mandarin?

So, I had bought a blue mandarin for my mother for her birthday, it's the fish she has wanted to have since I started this hobby... So I went to Aquatic Tech and bought one, and 2 containers of pods, and a week later bought another bottle of tiger pods... Just wanted to make sure that it had food to sustain it.

Well, everything was going fine, seen it out and on all the rocks eating... Now I haven't seen it for the last almost full week...

It's not in my sump/fuge... It's not in my over-flows that I can see....

What the heck happened to my fish?! The only other tank mates it has are 2 blue damsels, that aren't making the trip when I move my tank to my place... And a lawnmower blenny.... And of course quite a few hermits and snails...

Any ideas? :(

I dont see my spotted mandarin for weeks at a time.I had had mine for over 2yrs now I dont feed him tho,He feeds him self.
And he is plump!!

Well, I hope it's still in there, it's one of my favorite fish. And my mothers gift... Hope it pops out some time.

Its one you might have wanted to hold out to get!!!!
I think your going to have a hard time keeping him healthy.
Its in your new system right?

they say you should wait 6 months to add a mandarin....

that being said if you have plenty of live rock you should be fine (especially since you're boosting your pod pop.)

if it happened to die its not because it starved in a week.

check your overflows etc....

if he happened to die you may never find evidence..between crabs,worms,pods.... etc

my mandarin likes to hide in my rocks and sometimes i don't notice him during the day at all but at night he comes out of hiding and see him roaming around the gravel and rocks then some days he is out laying on the rocks like he is getting a sun tan. cool little fish though i would like to get one or two more once i re-do my setup
