Manderin and a anemone

I had a RBTA years ago. Was thinking about getting another one for my clown but did not want to put my manderine in any danger.

I also have both in my tank and everything is fine. Just make sure you don't have a carpet and Mandarin together as carpet are agressive

I have a big Bta, Two maroon clowns and a fat and happy manderin..
No problem, the manderin never goes near the nem

Same, same. BTA hosting a Maroon pair and a chubby mandarin. He does tool around close the the nem from time to time, but never close enough to endanger himself.

......shrug i lost my mandarin to my nem..... woke up one day found half the mandarin sticking out of the mouth of the nem.......

oh well..thats nature for you.....but i've lost 3 fish to that nem now...although it is about 15" wide

I'm going to bump this thread because I was doing some searching before I posted my own thread of the same nature.

What are the best types of anenome to keep that are least likely to eat my Mandarin for lunch?

I have 3 BTA's, spotted Mandarin, yellow watchman, red-head goby and 2 perc (Orange) and 1 oc (black) clown(s). I did have a black clown goby disappear but I don't think that dude ever acclimated, prolly ended up crab chowder. Tank is 135g, so, they all have their choice of where to hang out, but, I would think the gobys would avoid instant death via animal instinct. GL!

Haddoni carpet and possible LTA are the only two host anemones that may be a danger to Mandarin. The other host anemones are fine.
