Mandrin went surfing

So this morning I noticed what I thought was a little turd next to my tank from my friends teacup yorkie that was over yesterday. Needless to say I wish it was just a turd. Sadly it was my red mandarin. I've had him for over a year now and I'm pretty bummed. I never knew they could be jumpers though. The only other tank mates are a pair of picasso perculas and they've always gotten along pretty well. Has anyone else ever had a mandarin go carpet surfing?

common sense would have saved the fish. I've never been a huge fan of the screen tops and always preferd the open top look. However I don't want anyone else to try a leap for freedom so construction of a canopy begins today!
