mangrove question

Dave,

Quick question. It's just the root (botton inch or so where there is less green pigment?) that needs to be in the water, correct?

Thanks, S

yeah that would be fine, it could be submerged more if need be. also i forgot to say, its good to mist them with fresh water every once in a while b/c they absorb the salt and it builds up on there leaves.

The misting is required if the are not in a closed sump area to keep humidity up. I do it every day like an orchid.

can you define closed sump area? If my 30g sump below my 120g has an open top, but the doors are closed, do i still need to mist daily?

i have my mangroves below just as you would and i have yet to mist them since i moved the tank. i used to mist daily but i didnt notice a difference when i stopped doing that.
