Mantis attacking amphipods

Hi guys
recently i got myself a spearer, a Raoulsernea hieroglyphica and recently it has decided to chase the larger amphipods and copepods that live in the live rock.
does anyone elses mantis do this? although hes a spearer he seems to be trying to smack them rather than spear them and im worried this could eventually lead to damage of the appendages or even constant stress. Is this anything to be worrying over?
Thanks
James

Nothing to worry about. Raoulserenea live in live rock and feed on "in fauna" which they hit with a closed dactyl. I have not seen one damage a rapt doing this.

My peacock will often smash at rocks in what looks like an attempt to get at pods. I know it is not to get at crabs or snails because my wife prevents me from feeding him live food. I have to do that when she is not around.
