Mantis Identification

I think I've found one of those rare G smithii's. Unfortunately I didn't have my camera to take pictures. It has red intersegmental lines ( which could also make a G ternatensis) and the overall colour is darker than usual smithiis. However what I've noticed is that there are two big spots on its carapace on either side. It almost looks like meral spots and they appear to be maroon or purple. Any idea if G smithiis are know to have such spots on the carapace. If not then what species would have such spots or patches. Any help would be appreciated.

Thanks

Here's the Mantis Pic . Click on the "Mantis Pic" link to get directed there. Hope this helps :). It looks like a spearer which does re-enforce my opinion that it could belong to the "Raoulserenea" genus

You are so lucky.... I forget the name but its on roys list near the bottom i think. I've always wanted one but i've never seen them.

Definitely Raoulserenea, but I can't be sure of the species. It reminds me most of R. ornata, but it could be komai or hieroglyphica. I close up of the rostrum might help me decide.

Thanks for the response Dr. Roy.
I'll try to get a pic as soon as I can. Unfortunately, It's been in the PVC burrow all the time and doesn't come out except to feed, and again, it doesn't come out completely. I'll have to observe it over the weekend and see it gets active during the day at all.
