hello im going to do a peacock mantis tank but i cant find a tank the can hold one and im not going to put one in a glass tank im not going to chance that so do any of u no a online site thats has tank has tanks that can hold them and not over 200.00 for the tank im looking for a 300.00 setup or lower cuz the mantis is 70.00 or a place like petmart or petco that has some tanks that can hold one thx for your help ttyl

its not to hard to fab your own tank... or try calling a plastics shop and get them to build you one (will cost much less than if you buy from a tank builder)

just use some extra silicone, and make sure u test it for leaks.

I highly doubt any mantis would break glass over 1/4" thick. A 40g All-Glass tank is 3/8" thick (either the 36x18 or 36x15 footprint) and would make a great size with lots of options for a large mantis setup.

But, as per your wishes, I think this site has a good price for some acrylic tanks, acrylic tanks new are expensive though. That site offers alot of tank sizes/shapes hopefully you will find something you can afford.

And they, www.windowtothesea.com , also list peacocks in their livestock list - peacock mantis $30 even with $28 for shipping that is cheaper than you could buy it locally.

Should I even mention that I saw one this weekend for less than $20? 70 is waaaayyyyy overpriced.

good luck, hth :)

i beg to differ, ive seen much worse.

On the other hand, better that its a post, rather than your girlfriend to go that long without a period.

how bout a 46bow well that be ok. Cuz my lfs has a 46bow one for 198.98 for tank and stand and the lights it comes with say ALL GLASS. So well that be ok well ttyl.

for those that aren't 'metric-savvy' :) 3mm =1/8 of an inch - so 3/8" would give you 9mm thickness. A 46 bow should be 3/8, but just bring a ruler or ask them to measure for you.
